Weekend at Home
Ariel helped dad with some of the works while I was just taking pictures and giving comments on their works and plan. Very bad of me, huh?
Today, the roof is done. Just need to paint the walls and woods. The roof will still need some time before painting. This may happen in a few weeks. Dad would also make us a temporary kitchen cabinet. I wonder how it would look like. Hmmm.
My New Baby - Canon Selphy
We were able to try out our new Canon Selphy last Friday. We got it last Thursday from our suking tindahan - EBAY.
We are so happy with it. The advantage of having a compact printer at home is having less pressure of getting to the mall in time for a pix that we need to print asap.
The only problem we have now is we need to buy ink and photo papers. We already used 1 out of the 5 complimentary papers in the package. So excited to use it more!

Our Wikend Recap (5/24 and 5/25)
SATURDAY
We stayed at home but did able to do a lot of things. We had an afternoon home service massage. It was good for a promo price of 275 1.5H whole body massage. Hubby also tried cooking a baby back ribs for dinner. It was yummy for a 1st timer. I was able to work on some pages for my unfinished mini album from scrapfest. It is still unfinish. I still have 2 pictures to work on. I'll post them soon. I hope soon. Hehe.
SUNDAY
We went to Pasig to visit my parents but we went 1st to INDEX salon. Hubby had a haircut and I had my hair trimmed and cellophaned. Vanity is expensive. Haha.We had lunch in my parent house. Also able to play with my nephew. He gained a lot of weight. He is almost 5kgs. He is overweight for an almost 3 month old baby.
Also, for vanity, i had my nails done by our suking manicurista. We left my parents house at around 3pm. We had pm snacks in Pancake House in Alabang. It was an expensive mirienda and not money smart which contradicts my thoughts on my other blog. We also attended the 5pm mass in our Parish. And since it was also our fiesta, it was star stunded. It was celebrated by 4 priests (our parish priest, 2 more priests and our Imus Bishop). It was also attended by the Cavite Congressman and Imus Mayor (Strike Revilla). I don't wanna be sarcastic but they are both late for the mass. They arrived almost 30mins late. Hehehe. Hubby and I both grew up in the City and we are not familiar with such customs in the province. However, I think it was fun. They have a band playing, some programs and other gimiks.
Anyway, we had a worthwhile weekend because we spent every minute of it together!

SCRAPFEST 5
I tried to resist the temptations but hubby did not and he even pushed me to buy what I want and so we went home with these stuffs.
Anyway, here is my take for the On-the-Spot Challenge:
Some reflection was seen due to the transparency.
Materials: Imagination Project PPS, Corrugated Board, AC Thickers, Glitter Glue, MAMBI 3D embellishments (leaves/swirls), Zig Pen, Crystals, White CS, Cherry Arte Rub-ons, ribbon, metal charm. Journaling: People always noticed that we have coordinated clothes. We always dressed up like this. We just love it. We don't know why. But maybe, it is just our way of showing them that we are a ... perfect match.
I haven't taken a photo of hubby's entry. He still wants to edit it. Also, I can't post the mini album project yet because we still need to finish it. We'll post it once we're done.
Bottomline, SCRAPFEST5 was a success. I was able to see old and lots of new faces. Congrats to the Scrappinmoms and to all the winners!

But no matter how we celebrate it, we enjoy every bits and pieces of it.

Our Company Summer Outing and RANT about STAR TOLL
We had the following:
AM snacks: Ham & Cheese Bread and C2 Ice TeaWe really had a lot. This outing is quite better than our other summer events in terms of food. I think most of us had fun and lots of pictures. Our managing director even played volleyball with our group.
Lunch: Chicken Adobo, Salted Egg & Tomato, Breaded Fish Fillet, Grilled Liempo, Lechon, Corn in Cob, Fruit (choice of banana, ponkan and apple) and Soda
PM snacks: Ham & Cheese Bread, Corn in Cob, Turon, Oishi and Soda
Others: 4 pcs Squid Balls, Cotton Candy, Dirty Ice Cream
Souvenir: Red Transparent Bottle for Drinks with handle.
I will post more pictures soon.
Let's now go to my rant. I hate the Star Toll System. It was not friendly. We almost got lost and we even paid a very expensive toll fee. We entered the star toll from Sto. Tomas and we're supposed to exit in Lipa but missed it.We got surprised seeing another vehicle in the other lane in the opposite direction. We then realized that we missed the exit. We decided to made a U-turn and saw some security guard and asked for assistance. We knew that they saw us that we made a U-turn. They said that we should exit in Lipa. So akala namin ok lang yun.Pag dating sa toll gate we're asked to pay 64 pesos. Nagulat ako kasi last June, 24 lang yung toll fee. Tinanong namin yung cashier kung kelan sila nagtaas. Sabi nya, matagal na daw ganun. Bka matagal lang daw kami di nagpunta dun. We'll, sabi ko ke hubby, sobrang taas naman. Bka kaya ganun dahil sa iba kami nag-exit. Tignan na lang namin ulit pag-uwi. After the event, we were very cautious na magkamali ng exit. Pero THANK YOU pa rin sa napakalaking sign board sa may exit. Super nakakalito sya and we ended up going to BATANGAS instead of going to MANILA. So ano pa nga ba ang gagawin namin, e di U-TURN ulit. Pagdating sa EXIT ng Sto. Tomas, I prepared 24 pesos because I know that we existed from Tambo. But then the cashier is aking us to pay 44 pesos. We told them that we exited from Tambo pero iba daw nakasulat sa CARD. Tapos biglang she's charging us with 64 pesos. Huh? I was very mad. Sabi namin. Nakakalito naman kasi mga sign-boards nila. Sabi nila, meron daw guards dun na dapat nagu-guide. Eh wala naman kaya kami nakita nung pabalik na kami. GRRRR.
I know there is a problem with the system. Di na lang ako nakipag-away kasi mahaba na yung fila sa Toll Gate. Pero truly, nakakalito mga sign boards nila.Parang sinadya yata nila na ganun para maraming magkamali at makasingil sila ng mahal. For sure, we will not be the only one that will be victimized by their sign board and system. So cautious when you pass via Star Toll to avoid paying more.
I am still mad with the 80 pesos that we lost because of the broken system of Star Toll. 80 pesos is still 80 pesos and it's no JOKE. It can still buy some kilos of rice.Grrr!
2008 MOTHERS Day CARDs
We're able to give them to my mom, sis, aunt, cousin and SIL.
Gifts from Friends
An officemate who also came back from a training in US informed me yesterday that I got some "PADALA" from Ate Jo. I got lots of scrapbooking embellishments. Can't wait to use all of them.
Thanks to our Friends - the Tandingan and Mamorno Family from San Jose, CA. It was so sweet of you! Miss you all!

Restarted
Last night, I thought I was able to finish a LO. I know I did. But I was not satisfied. I looked at it a couple of hours ago and made some changes. I did. But it is almost negligible. My absence in scrapping made me forget how to create a pleasing LO. Hehehe. For now, I need to be satisfied with my output. I just need to practice more since Scrapfest5 is just 10 days away.
Here is my 1st LO after a month of absence in the scrapping world.
Journaling:A new year's treat to ourselves. We spent a night in Los Banos. We visited UPLB as per recommendation of Issa. This Belen is really nice. A true work of Art.
Materials:
MME Bohemian PPS, AC Thickers, Zig Pen, Cherry Arte Rub-on, Button, Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Brads ( Karen Foster, Unknow Brand), Metal Bling, Craft Express Alpha Sticker, Provo Craft vellum Alpha Sticker.

Something to be Grateful!!!!
Today.... I almost got into a car accident. Thank GOD that He had given me presence of mind, wisdom and courage. My group and I had a lunch out. Hubby was not with us because he needs to be with their visitor. We had a good lunch but not a real good experience. Mcdo was jam packed. We just ate near the party area where aircon was off. We're sweating while eating.
Going back to work was pretty smooth, until I got impatient with the truck and tricycle in front of me. I cut them and was surprised to see a truck in front of us... very close. My thoughts were... I will hit it very hard if I'll stop. I just turned the wheel to the right. Luckily, I
never hit the tricycle and was also not hit by the truck.
It was indeed a blessing. Thanks be to GOD!

Anniversary Gifts
Our Anni fall on a Holy Wednesday. Months before our anniversary, we already planned of having a day off. However, we only planned of having 1 more day-off before that day, a week before that.
Holy week started with Palm Sunday. We're so bz with a lot of things. Monday, we went to office to finish some stuffs before we take our vacation. Tuesday... was supposed to be a rest and prep day for our trip. However, hubby had some urgent stuffs that needs to be done. He took a half day off instead.
I was supposed to buy a gift in the morning while he's in the office, but I was not feeling well. When hubby came home @ passed 1pm, we took our lunch together and headed to ATC. We just bought some stuffs that we will be needing in our trip. We had pm snaks in BK and decided to go separate ways to buy gifts for each other. Hehehe. Then we met @ 5pm. All the things we bought was kept secret until we got home.
At home... he was so excited that he started giving me his gifts even it's not yet our anniversary.
- 1st, were the books that he bought for the two of us.
" Husband after Gods own plan" & " Wife after Gods own Plan" by Jim and Elizabeth George.
- 2nd was the Bench leather watch that I saw the last time we went to ATC. I didn't buy it because the moneysmart in me strikes again.
- 3rd was the Paper Bag from Gems & Jewel. It contained a silver earring. Waah. He looked at my reaction and then gave me the earring that I saw a week ago. I loved it the 1st time I saw it but because of my being money smart, i didn't buy it.
I was so overwhelmed with all those gift that I felt ashame with my gift for him. I handed him my simple leather watch gift. I felt happy with hubby's reaction. He truly appreciates all the things that I gave him.
I was so lucky having him. He don't smoke, drinks rarely but never get drunk and not materialistic. He is just fond of eating. He likes to eat and try different foods. Hehehe. No wonder... that both of us are gaining weight.Obvious ba?

Happy Easter!!!
Hope You had a fruitful and Blessed Day!
We're not able to join the "Salubong" this morning because my cellphone's battery got empty and it didn't alarm. We just attended the mass this afternoon.
Btw, already uploaded the pix of our Holyweek Vacation / 3rd Year Wedding Anniversary Celebration in Punta de Fabian- Baras, Rizal. We really enjoyed our stay there. Everyone was so accomodating. The place is so romantic and relaxing! The foods are good and not expensive. We didn't regret that we chose to celebrate there instead of our planned overnight stay in a Hotel. You got to see for yourself. More Pix are in this link.
We also visited 2 churches in Rizal. The Tanay and Baras Church. The Baras Church is a very old church. It was built in 15th century. Looking @ the church, you can feel that you are in a different time - it's like a blast in the past. It's worth our visit. We also made a wish.... since it was both our 1st time in their church.... we wished for a baby... and a stronger, happy and fruitful married life!

What's So Special?
Got curious about Mo Twister's raving about the "Juno" movie. We watched it last Sunday. However... the verdict is: It's not so good. Not appreciated it that much. Maybe because of the following:
1. Too liberated.
2. Not compliant to Filipino culture
3. The thought of adoption is not acceptable for me... but hubby have a different view. Bahala Sya... Hehehe.
Mo might have love it because of the dialogue... the typical American style of communicating, speaking, talking. I must admit... I also enjoyed it. Hehehe. But overall.. I don't like the story.
FEBRUARY 29 '08 - A Special DAY
So came Friday morning... I reminded him that we need to be out of the office at exactly 5pm. I kept on reminding him because he is so workaholic. I even scheduled it on our Oracle Calendar para walang ligtas. It will send a reminder 10mins before the event. My subordinates even bet that we can't leave early. They already know my husband..hahaha. Few minutes before 5pm... hubby was on a phone.. then chatting about work with his subordinates.. i even made a reminder call. Then.. at exactly 5pm... he's by my desk .... I was shocked... almost all of our officemates were surprised about us leaving early. Hehehe... The comments were... AMAZING.... Ningas kugon lang yan... wow...changed man.. hehehe..But one thing for sure.... I appreciated it... According to him... Since it is a leap year... we need to make that day special... extra ordinary because it only repeats once every 4 years.May ganun-ganun pa. Hehehe.
So we went to ATC... more than an hour drive from our office. We dropped by NBS to buy some stuffs needed at home and for my scrapbooking ekek. Then we ate in TEMPURA.... our 1st time together. Memorable right? We ate... a lot... yet it was not that expensive... ok na rin. Tapos... ikot-ikot lang.... Planned to buy a new bag but...nagkuripot na naman ako.. hahaha...next time na lang.. I'll just repair my new yet broken bag. hay. I also thought of drinking coffee but I felt so full and tired that we left ATC 30mins before it closes.
However.... we're so unfortunate... we got stuck in Daang Hari. The traffic was so frustrating. Our way home that should only take 10mins became 1.5H. Waah. Naisip ko tuloy... sana...nag-kape na lang kami. Nevertheless... we had a special day because we spent some time together.... we had some good and not so good time.
