My Bestfriend's Wedding

Rose is my friend since college. We're batchmate in Adamson both taking up BSECE. We enrolled as Octoberian due to some problem. We became friends because I started it (according to her). 2nd day na kasi sya pumasok and mukha syang kawawa nun kaya kinausap ko sya. The next day, I got a letter from her saying that she appreciated my effort of befriending her. It was the start of our friendship. Actually, we're 3 in the barkada, nawalan lang us ng communication sa isang friend namin when she decided to continue her studies in Bataan. Classmates kami on most of the subjects pero nung nag working student sya, konti na lang similar subjects namin coz konting units lang ini-enroll nya while i'm trying my best to catch up with my batch, i want to graduate on march rather than october. I graduated 1 year ahead of her. I can't remember kung papano pa kami nag-communicate eh wala naman kaming cellphone pareho nung college. Basta, till now may comunication pa din kami. Once in while we exchange emails. Thanks to modern technology. Kahit seldom lang kami gumimik and magkita, we're still able to keep in touch.

Rose and I have a lot in common. Parehong July birthday namin. We both went to an exclusive school-elementary and highschool. We both love and help our families. We both excel in chemistry and physics. We both love math. We both have past relationship that didn't work out. We both have nice and good 2nd BF turned into hubby. We both married on 2005. We both have the same format for our guest sheets. And maybe many more to come.

Anyway, it was her wedding last saturday the twenty fifth of June. I am very happy for her. It may not be her dream wedding but I know it is a memorable one.

Friday night pa lang, Ariel and I are already busy preparing for the wedding. After work, we went to SM Dasma to look for a nice present/gift. Hirap maghanap. There are lots of things to consider pero secret muna, bka ayaw nya ipaalam eh. We went to SM appliances, HOME plus and SM department store. When I get tired looking for a gift, I thought of just giving monetary gift but I could not make up my mind because I also want to give something that would be different. So,we agreed to give both. The searching of that something is still tough. We're thinking if we will be giving a wine glass set or a mug set. I chose the mug but when we're about to pay it, I saw a cute pitcher and cup set. Next stop namin is the gift wrapping section. Ang haba ng pila kaya we decided that i'll just do the wrapping but next problem is the wrapper. As usual nagtagal din us ng 10 mins sa pagpili ng wrapper. Hay, babae talaga, maarte. Hahaha. Buti na lang mabait si hubby.

Before we go home, I reminded Ariel of the blouse that I wanted to buy the day before but didn't buy it kasi wala pang sweldo. and since may sweldo na, bibilin na sana namin. Pero nung makita ko ulit, ayoko na. We entered most of the boutique to look for something to buy but I end up buying nothing. Wala akong napili. Kainis.

In our apartment, the 1st thing I have on my list is the wrapping of the gift. I did it with Ariel's help. Ganda ng wrapping namin. Siempre, artistic and perfectionist din hubby ko. Next is my gown. Nagusot yung damit ko nung pina-repair ko kaya pinantsa ko pa sya. Hay...hirap mag-plantsa ng gown. But I was satisfied with how it turned out (maselan kasi ako sa plantsa). After that I prepared the things that we need to bring and use for the wedding like my shoes, Bible, etc. It's almost 11 pm and we're still awake. I'm not used in sleeping late kaya medyo masungit na ako nun. We had a little agrument on the time that we will be leaving cavite thinking that the wedding is at 5pm. He wants us to leave cavite at 8am kasi madami pa kaming dadaanan pero sabi ko it's too early. I know where the church is pero nang-iinis pa sya kaya napikon ako. Hmmp. I went to bed early but we still make-it-up before we sleep.

Saturday
I woke at at 730am. Ariel cooked our breakfast-onion with potato and corned beef (mas madami kasi yung onion..hehehe). I cooked scrambled egg with chiz. Sarap mag breakfast pag may icetea. We left our apartment at 9pm. Then travel time na. 1st destination namin is Makati.1030am kami nakarating sa Ayala-AXA building. We just submitted the additional requirements for our housing loan kahit wala yung contact person namin. 12nn- nasa SM Manila kami. Traffic. Kainis. We had our lunch in Kenny Rogers. We both had our Solo Rib A meal. Sarap. Hindi kami gutom kaya naubos namin lahat. And para mawala yung busog namin, naghanap na kami ng salon na papa-make-up-an ko. My friend is offering her HMU artist for 500 pero ayaw ko na sya ma-istorbo kaya naghanap na lang kami. We went to Ricky Reyes and Davids salon. At 3pm, ok na hair and make-up ko. Got a nice m-up naman for 600 bucks. Saka ng yung official pix (it may be available in KIX website soon). Snak na lang muna kami ni Ariel sa Mr. donut while letting time to pass by. 5pm pa kasi yung wedding.

CHURCH (St. Vincent D Paul Parish Church):
At 430pm, nasa church na kami. We're not the 1st one to arrive. Dumating na yung ibang secondary sponsor, then ibang kids. Naunang dumating ang bride. Kainis, wala pa yung groom, photographer pati yung MOH. Naligaw ata or na-trafic. Pati bible bearer nawawala. Ano ba yun? Just in time lang yung photog. after 10min kasi, start na yung bridal march. Ngek, wala pa yung mga male secondary sponsors. Naglakad mag-isa yung candle and veil sponsor. By the time that the principal sponsors need to witness the something something, I noticed na wala pang sindi yung candle. So yun nga nangyari, They lit the candle before the veil was pinned. When it was my turn to put the cord, i don't know where should I pass. I'm afraid that I may step on the bride's veil. I just make a big step not to ruin the veil. What? I just asked the MOH to ask the church ekek kung saang part ba? The best part that I can remember is the time that everybody is waiting for the priest to announce that couple as man and wife and the groom may kiss the bride which did not happen. HAHAHA... Nung lumabas na yung priest, the guest are asking the bride. HAHAHA. Comedy talaga. Buti na lang makulit yung bride. Then, akala ko tapos na yung pix taking, nagulat kami ni Ariel nung tawagin kaming dalawa. kami lang dalawa with the newly wed. Wow, bida kami. Hahaha.

RECEPTION (Ibarra's Garden):
I kept on praying that it would not rain hard but it still did. But the show must go on, there was a torch parade. Ganda ng effect. The gazebo looks nice. The pond below it was indeed attractive esp. to the kids. Kakatakot nga lang coz there was this little girl who keeps on pushing the kids who are playing near the pond. Good thing hindi nahuhulog yung mga bata. I thought everyhting would be fine coz the place was covered but when it rained very hard, there was a part of the garden na nababasa yung mga guest. Di kasi covered yung part nayun. Pati yung gazebo, tumulo. But in fairness, the foods are ok. I liked the teriyari and the fried lumpia. Tuloy ang ligaya kahit malakas ang ulan. Mas lalo kaming sumaya, nung may nahulog na bata sa pond. Hahaha. Sinasaway kasi nung isang ale yung mga girls na naglalaro sa gazebo kasi bka madulas at mahulog sila sa pond not knowing that there was a little kid behind her. Nabangga nya yung kid and nahulog sa pond. Kawawa naman yung bata. Sobrang liit nya-one year old lang ata kaya lunod talaga sya. Her wedding would really be memorable. Hahaha.

I found out from the emcee that I'll be rendering a speech. Oh my gulay, anong sasabihin ko, I am not prepared. So impromptu na ito...part na lang ng speech ko that i am happy for them, nagkwentu lang ng history namin, similarity namin and then asked the groom to take care of my friend. Huhuhu, ayoko maiyak, kaya sandali lang ako nagsalita..Hehehe. Next, is the wedding game, I am so thankful that I don't need to hide anymore during this game. Hindi nako single.HAHAHA. Ariel and I are laughing. There was also a dance- groom with his mother and bride with her father. Grabe, iyakin ang groom. Hahaha. Tas exhange naman, Groom with bride's mother and bride with groom's father. Saya naman. Mayamaya- couples dance na. the newly wed are asking all the couples in the house to dance. Kala namin tapos na but meron pa palang money dance. This is a tradition daw sa Infanta Quezon (the groom's place). It was not compulsary as per the tita of the groom. They just called the guests from infanta to give their monetary gifts. Ganun pala yun. The money will be counted in front of the guest and the accumalated amount will be announced. Nagulat kami coz it's our 1st time to attend such wedding. We stayed until most of the guest are gone. We waited for Kix, Cubao kasi us uuwi then sa Marikina sya. Wawa naman kasi yung camera nya pag mababasa sa ulan (yung camera yung inalala eh noh?!).

Summary:
My friend's wedding may not be perfect and may not be her dream wedding but it was a memorable one. And I am very happy for her. This was supposed to happen 2 years ago. Nauna pa nga ako eh. But I am glad that we were able to share with this special occasion.
