Small Business Funding

I know a lot of people who wants to have a business. They have the vision and mission but they lack funds. It is hard to borrow from friends and relatives due to the risk of the business. They resort on getting Small Business Funding from banks or other lending firms.

Some banks will not grant a loan without a collateral. This is the biggest problem that some people faces. However, I have seen a lot of Small Business Funding providers online. They have different offers. But I find AFSloan better than its competitors because they offer Small Business Funding without any application fee and hidden charges. You can check more of the benefits of dealing with AFSloan in here.

Do you Accept Credit Cards?

Hubby and I have a total of 3 credit cards. We use them for straight and installment purchases. For straight charges, we ensure that we pay them immediately before the cut-off period so we will not be charged of interest. But this is not the point. The point of having a credit card is for convenience and security. We won't need to carry a huge amount of cash for big purchases. Robbers and pickpockets are just around the corner.

The use of credit card is normal in the US. The Philippines is still getting into it. It would be nicer if all the stalls in the malls are credit card accepting. Buyers would not need to fall in line in ATM machines just to get some cash to pay for their purchases.

I am also a great fan of EBAY and other online stores. I bought scrapbooking items and other personal stuffs from them. Some of them are only accepting Credit Cards on Website. Some accepts both credit cards and paypal payments. I am also planning of putting up an online store. I still don't know what will be my product. But I think, I'm going to get an Internet Credit Card Processor to serve a wider market. What do you think?

Ultrasound Tech School

My hubby came from a family of doctors. Most of his relatives are in the line of medicine. There are cosmetic surgeons, surgeon, dentists, medical technician, radiologist, internal medicine, dermatologist, OB-gyne, physical therapist, pediatrician and pharmacist. Those who were not in the line of medicines are architects and entrepreneur . Hubby is the only engineer. I find it lucky to be in the family of medical doctors. You got to learn a lot of things in terms of health and other stuffs about taking care of our body.

I have a sister who is taking up nursing in a known good medical school. I believe that a school have somehow a part in making a professional successful in his/her chosen field. Nowadays, graduates of medicine courses finds job so easy. The demand is so high. Aside from nursing, ultrasound technologist which is also known as sonographer is also in demand. A lot of school is now available for this course. There are in-campus and online. In-campus ultrasound tech schools are available in most part of the US. And most of the recommended online ultrasound technician schools are also shown in this link.

Busy, Busy Busy

I was not able to update this blog for quite sometime now. I had been so so so busy these past few days. I was given an additional responsibility in the office because one of my co-engr just moved to a new Company in Singapore.

It's not a promotion but it's a good opportunity. I am still owning my work from my original group but once I have completed my major projects, I will move full time.

They told me that it's gonna be 50/50 (old group vs. new group). But in reality, they would need my 200%. I have no regrets. I am enjoying my work now and I am happy!

It's actually a blessing in disguise because last December, I was thinking of my future in my group. My 2 major projects are soon to finish this quarter and I don't know what will be next. I was asked by my friends to talk to my supervisor and manager but I delayed it. Don't know why.

Then.. came 2nd week of January. ....Here's the detailed story....

MONDAY
Lunch Time - Heard about the need for replacement in the other group from hubby. I was wondering who will be the replacement.

Pass 3pm - Had some discussion with a co-PM about a project and heard that he was eyed for the replacement. He told me that he was having 2nd thought because it's a hi-visibility project (being monitored by our CEO). I made a joke that if he doesn't want the position, I'll take it. Hmm. Though I wondered why it was not offered to me. Hehehe.

TUESDAY
Lunch Time - I saw the manager of the other group next to us in the canteen line. I made a joke to hubby to tell him that he can consider me. It was all a joke but he told me that he'll tell it to my supervisor. I told him that I was just kidding but he told me that he'll talk to me later.

After Lunch - I saw the manager of the other group talking to my former supervisor. I was suspicious that time but I disregard it. Then few minutes passed, my supervisor asked me for a 1:1. He told me that he heard about my interest in the other group. He also explained why he did not opened it to me. I understand. I also told him that I was just making a joke. But he told me that if I really like to move, he will not stop me. He also told me that they will be discussing it with our Director. Kinabahan ako. Hehehe.

Pass 3 pm - I saw my supervisor and the manager of the other group going to the room of our director. It seems I know and feel what they will be talking about.

Less than 30 minutes after - They were done with the meeting. The manager of the other group approached me. My supervisor told him that it's not yet time. We had a 1:1. He told me that they (my supervisor, my former supervisor, him and our director) have agreed that I am the best candidate for the position. I was shaking that time. Ang bilis ng pangyayari. He told me that the other engr is leaving on Friday. I only have 2 days for the endorsement. Wednesday and Friday only because Thursday is our Company's Thanksgiving Party in MOA-SMX (Plant Shutdown). He also gave me an introduction about the product that I'll be working on as well as the people. He also gave me some words on the people that will be reporting directly to me - their attitudes and how long they have been in the company/group.

Then I had a talk with my supervisor, he told me that their agreement is that I'll be working 50/50. My passport to move to the other group will be the completion of my projects. I told him that it is fine with me.

Then I talked to Debbie, she told me that she'll not be going to work on friday and that would mean that we only have a day for endorsement. Though, huh? I said it's ok as long as we can still contact her even on YMs. hehehe.

WEDNESDAY
9am to 11am - Meeting with Debbie
- Device Training
- Organization Familiarization
- Endorsements
- People Feedback (the team, counterparts, other groups that I will be dealing with)

1pm - Introduced to the group
- her group / my future direct reports
- The production people (operators, GLs, trainors, Process Engrs, etc)

2-4pm Line Tour
I saw the line (equipment set-up, the production LO, the testers, the units, etc)
Got some trainings on tester usage.
Familiarization with the process

Was a tiring yet happy day! I enjoyed my day.

THURSDAY
HAPPY TIME with K Brosas, Gian Magdangal, Sheryl Regis, MOCHA.
I didn't win in the raffle but it's ok, I was not expecting. I didn't Pray for it.
But still was happy because 2 of my friends won P10K each.
The party started @ 1130am and ended pass 6pm.
The lunch was served by Tamayo's. It was good.
Unfortunately, I was not able to get some desserts. Huhuhu.
Then our group, had dinner in BLUEWAVE (Shakey's Pizza).
They also agreed to go to Malate but already not feeling well so we didn't join them.

FRIDAY
Busy na on work... Reality is Here.
Need to work, work and work....

From that day ON....till today..... I've been really really busy that I was not even able to blog about our Xmas, New Year and other gimiks last Holiday season.... Hope I can blog about them soon!... Wish me luck. Tumakas lang ako ngayon... hehehe...

Ligo na Tayo!

Sa Wakas, after 3 days of no wash... I can wash my hair tomorrow. I'm so excited about it. Hehehe. I just got my hair rebonded last Saturday in INDEX salon in Dasma Cavite for only P2k. I got the Hair Rebond with 2 vials of Loreal Powerdose. This salon is quite far from our place but I am sure of their service. I also got their service last year - Hair Rebond with Semi Delino and Loreal Powerdose. I think... I got a better package this year for the same price.

The service is also good. They would not do your hair if they know that it will just be damaged in the process. Last year, they were able to repair my damaged hair from F Salon's hair rebonding . They were really good. Actually, I got different hair dresser/stylist on each of my visit but all of them are friendly and service oriented. I salute this branch coz I am also hearing scary stories on other branches of Index. Well... I think it just depends on the branch....

It's Back

A little disappointed. I think I just need to copy my blog few months ago. Bigo pa rin kami. hehehe..

Improving Skills

I remember when I was still on my pre-school years. My uncles who are Civil Engineers were my idols. I also dreamt of wearing a Hard Hat aside from being a Nurse. However, after high school, I got a change of mind. I switched to another line of Engineering. I took up Electronics and Communication Engineering instead. I have no regrets of finishing this course. I was able to get a good job and I am now building my career here. But sometimes, I still wonder. What if I took up Civil Engineering? Am I now working in the field or in the office. It tickles my fancy.

I believe that no work is so easy. Everybody needs to be trained in order to do your job correctly. There are a lot of sites now that offers trainings and qualifications. I got to see CSkills and was awed by completeness of their site. They specialized on construction. And their site provides a lot of information about CITB, the construction industry and career development. It is a must-see site if you are an employee who wants to improve your skills or an employer to wants to have a competitive employees.

Online Betting

I have first heard of online betting on my second trip to US. I was fetched by my cousin's neighbor from our San Jose CA office going to my cousins house in Sacramento. The traffic was really heavy and it took us three hours to reach our destination. I was just thankful that we arrived safely. My cousin's neighbor is a Filipino college teen who grew up in the US. We chat while driving and he somehow mentioned about his sideline. He's fond of online casino. He earns money from it and he enjoys it. I got interested but haven't tried it yet. However, just recently, I heard of a TV personality who is so addicted to online casino. I think it's worth a try but not to the point that I'll get addicted to it.

I have heard of the bet365 site and checked them as well. They have almost a complete range of online betting services. They got online casino, sportsbook facility, interactive games section, football betting and online poker. The site is also user-friendly. You can find everything in the homepage. Their site has a secure environment. You can check them here.

1st TAG for 2008 - New Year's Resolution

My 1st tag for this year came from Aggie.
See below on how it goes:

*Start Copy Here*

When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions we seem to fall into four categories:
1) quite serious about them,
2) be flippant about them,
3) do it because we feel pressured to, or
4) do not do them. So, the purpose of this little game is to let us know which category you are in.

Copy from "*Start Copy Here*" through "*End Copy Here*" and post it. Before "*End Copy Here*" tell us who you are, your site(s) (with link) and your New Year’s Resolution, or not.

Then tag as many others as you like, from one to your entire blogroll, your choice.
If you like, create an intro paragraph to your post that also acknowledges who tagged you.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS:

Jeanne - The Callalily Space - My resolutions are to have more time with my daughter, so doing only parttime job, have more rest in my life, keep healthy. That was the important things, there are another things that i want to reach in 2008, i have so many plans...

Juliana – Juliana's Site - My New Year's resolutions are looking for a part time job, keep blogging, and learn to cook and bake.

Michelle - Rusin Roundup - 1. Learn to be happier and accept myself for who I am, 2. Is to lose about 25 lbs., and 3. Is to stop smoking.

Karen - Grow Rich Along With Me - My resolution for next year is to achieve $3K per month passive income by the end of 2008.

Mel - Attitude, the Ultimate Power & Complain Complain Complain - “I don’t need no stinking resolutions.” I never hold to them anyway so why frustrate myself by starting them now.

Sandee - Comedy Plus - I don't need no stinking resolutions either. Years and years ago I did them because everyone else did, but not once did I follow through. Why set yourself up for failure?

Lynda - lynda's loft - My resolution is to see resolve to that which needs resolution. Like Mel and Sandee, I feel that resolutions give us more stress, however, being a person who sets goals each year, isn't that the same thing as a resolution??? Goals vs. resolutions? Goals are more general and allow for more time to complete them, a resolution requires a mind-set and immediate action, which is not always feasible... Well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

Amelia - Amel's Realm - This is a list of my New Year's Resolution:
1. Health: Continue exercising twice a week, eat enough veggies and fruit, have enough rest, take vitamin C regularly and women's multivitamin during my period.
2. Spiritual: Improve my Daily Bread reading routine and my prayer life and learn more from God's Word.
3. Financial: Continue to make money online (my goal is getting €100 per month at least), be more creative in writing posts, and save most of the money.
4. General Life: Continue to learn Finnish AND practice it as best and often as I can, try out more baking and cooking recipes, continue to maintain and share positive thoughts, continue to learn to control my thoughts, continue to learn to catch myself before I start complaining and count my blessings instead, continue to stop and cherish all the little moments in life that oftentimes go unnoticed, and continue to feed my inner child and last but not least, continue to ENJOY my life thoroughly.

Max - MAX - My New Year's resolutions are to dedicate more time to my friends; to finally be able to read "Der Spiegel" in German; to be calm when organizing my marriage; to go one last time to my favourite club and dance the night away; and continue to be happy!

Eric - Speedcat Hollydale - I love chicken. Problem is that I really never get to have enough chicken! My New Year's resolution is to enact "Chicken Tuesday". On this day I will eat only chicken, blog about chicken, and promote chickens all over the world. (hormone free) Join me, won't you?

Marzie - Mariuca & Mariuca's Perfume Gallery - My resolution for 2008 is to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and to expand my Perfume Collection.

Sindi- Life Is A Roller Coaster - My resolution is to complain less, pray more and be a little more thankful for what I have.

Judy - Sugar Queen's Dream - My New Year's resolution is:To take better care of my health. To eat better, well at least 3 meals a day, I'm lucky these days if I stop for one meal a day....To help make the world a better place to live, I love the human race, but think there’s always room for change. To be generous until it hurts. To live each day as if it's my last.To make a book of our personal family recipes and traditions for each of my 3 my children, so that the traditions and family cooking can be passed on in my family line long after I'm gone and finally.......To help more with the local Human society, Animals like little kids can not fend for themselves so it's up to each of us to take care of our pets and to step in and care for all animals.....I hope that through me I can encourage my Children to be better adults and in turn to raise the Children they have or will have, to be good people with good, sound & solid values.... Peace!

Adrian - First Time Dad - My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 is to be a better father…now I don’t usually make New Year's resolutions because I never keep them but this one I better keep! Happy New Year to one and all!

Colin - Life - New Years Resolution? No way...Better to achieve more throughout the year rather than pander to the whims of a one day 'wishful thought'

Mauro - 1 Million Love Messages - My resolution for next year are:
1. Change my job (maybe work online). I'm really unhappy in the actual one.
2. Dedicate more time to my family and girlfriend... maybe start to get ready for our wedding :-) 3. Work hard in 1 Million Love Messages and reach 2500 Love messages (or more) in the end of 2008.

MidgetManOfSteel - Mental Poo - To get out of dealing with people who I have no desire in helping at the job I’m doing…catch the eye of someone who can see that I can write and be funny…and get my own ticket to happiness from my humor….and a Ferrari. While I’m doing this, I resolve to get a Ferrari.

Stacy - My Thoughts - My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 - Is to be more understanding to my children and to other people, Not to curse at others while I am driving, try to eat right and exercise, try to volunteer in my community, and to believe more in my spiritual side.

Jason -
DatCurious.com & DatMoney.com - Although, I normally don't do New Year's Resolutions (because I find it as an excuse to actually do something I should've already been doing), this year I will plan on giving back to the blogging community, especially my audience. I'm not sure how I will do it yet, but I definitely will.

Kesa - Little Aussie Cynic - My New Years Resolution is the standard..... to finally get off the smokes and to loose 8kg.... both which are possible just difficult.....Happy New Year to you and yours….Aussie

Ann - A Nice Place in the Sun - "To let the rest of my life begin as soon as possible."

Agnes - My Favorite Things My New Year's Resolution is to save money to build a house for us, save up for my pregnancy, take each day at a time, no hurrying, less worrying, less complaining and always be grateful for the blessings that I received. I also want to be less analytical of people, I can't help it, I like to interpret behavior so I hope to let it go.

Ella - Journey to this Thing called LIFE - I was not doing this since I finished school. But would like to give this a try. I may fail on some but they are worth trying. Better have plans than none at all. So here is my take - my new year's resolutions are: 1) Create a plan for our financial indepence by writing an attainable goal with commint dates, saving religiously & spending wisely (buy needs and not wants), 2) Scrapbook more- at least once a week (had been on T-mode lately),  3)Update my blog more frequently - at least once a week, 4) Be more patient - count 1-50 before getting mad, 5) stay healthy by eating right and exercising more frequently (to gain a pound is a sin) and, 6) Gain or Lose weight (get preggy or get sexy, hehe) and 7) Continue to Count and share our blessings!

Dental Insurance vs. Discount Dental Plan

Medical plan is important nowadays. It is not an investment but a protection. It helps protect our wealth and assets in times of emergency. One of the benefits that our company offers is a medical plan with a dental plan. Our dental plan includes free oral prophylaxis, 4 permanent filling and unlimited temporary filling. I never used my dental plan because my husband's sister and BIL are both dentist. We get good service for free. According to some officemates, one disadvantage of using this plan is not getting a good service. They would need to wait for a long line before getting attended. With this, I think, it is better to have a discount dental plan rather than a dental insurance.

Discount dental plans provide savings on members dental care needs. They would still pay for the service but in a discounted price. Recently, this became a good alternative to dental insurance due to cost. Discount dental plans are more affordable and easy to use.

DentalPlans.com provide solution to high cost dental insurance by providing discounted dental plans. They allow members to save money on quality dental care. They also provide different dental plans that would satisfy the need of different individuals. Once an individual find the plan that suits them, joining is quick and easy. Purchase of plan can be done online or by phone with a credit card or electronic check. So go on now and check their site to know more about the plans that they offer.
