Scrapfest: May 19'07

It was my 1st time to attend the Scrapfest. I had fun besides the fact that I had some bonding time with my sister Gemme and Cousin Anna. I had been a member of SE since April'06. There were a couple of Scrapfest last year that I was not able attend due to shyness and other reasons.

We arrived in Makati Park at 8:45am. I thought we are early in the venue (hubby drop us early because he needs to attend a Baptism that day @ 9:30am). Was surprised that there were already a lot of people in the registration. The LB scrapaholics, Donna, Dianne and Leica (the only poeple i know by name) were already there.

Registration starts at 9:15 but participants were allowed to enter the venue at 9:30. Was happy with the loot bag that we have and all the things that came with it. See pix below (grabbed from Christine V's Blog).
This is inside a net bag which looks cute. I seldom see that kind of bag now. The loot bag also have 3 or 4 pieces of Nissin Wafers (vanilla flavor). Just right for the hungry me.

The 1st thing i did was to go to my designated seat and leave my things. I was seated next to Dianne. Started looking around. I got crazy over the scrap items i saw from different suppliers. I only have a few bucks in my wallet and needed to be firm with my budget. So what I did was look around, checked what i want to buy, canvassed and buy. There are a lot of things that I would like to buy but this will be just in wish list for now.

Demo starts pass 10am. Joanne and Liza did the demos. They were really good. Demos includes: hidden journaling, dry embossing, wet embossing and paper folding.

There was a surprise challenge aside from the previously announced altered box and cherry arte challenges. It is to create 2 6x6 LO with at least 3 techniques in 1 LO.. Since it was a surprise. Naloka ako. Dont know where to start. It was just good that I like the papers included in the kit and able to finish my 2 6x6 LOs as seen on my previous post. However, I was not able to work on my altered box. Ngarag nako eh.

Just after the deadline of the altered box and 6x6 LOs, we started the cherry arte challenge.Waah, i didn't know what to do. It seems that my papers didn't match with my pix. Sayang!. anyways, I still tried to finish a LO with the help of my hubby , cutting the swirls (hubby got back @ 4pm).

I didn't win in any challenge but I won in the raffle - 7gypsies rub-on c/o Buzy Bee. I like it very much.
Btw, below is what i got for the Cherry Art Kit:
The Verdict: The Scapfest was so much fun. It was a success. The 650php entrance fee was all worth it with the freebies that we got, aside from the discounts that were offered by the different suppliers. I will definitely attend the next scrapfest! Congrats to the ScrappinMoms for the Job Well Done.

Some More

Last Wednesday, i felt like scrapping. And these are what I finished:

This is already late for my Mom & Dad's Anniversary last May'19. But better late than never. I'll be giving it tomorrow.

This is the make & take card from the SM3. Ngayon ko lang nagawa.

WILL I BE A COOL MOM???

Chanced upon Howell & Abbie Blog and saw this. Took the test and this is what I got.

You Will Be a Cool Parent

You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need.
You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law.
While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top.
You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant!

Last Week

I was happy last week. For 3 consecutive days, we were able to go home earlier than usual. For the past few days, hubby was preparing for the big review & we go home very very late - 8pm the earliest plus the 45min drive to our home. We often have fights. I was bored waiting for him. If only he could advise me earlier that he would come home late, i would rather find my way home alone. i can ride a jeep and fx or carpool with an officemate.

however, the big day, the major presentation/review was done. And hubby needs a break. We went home early and enjoy dinner together w/o a fight.

Yun lang. Ang babaw ba?

Last Weekend & My 1st PS EB

Long Saturday

We had a very busy Saturday. Attended our friends' 10am Wedding Ceremony in Villamor Airbase. It was a simple yet nice wedding. The reception was held in Fort Bonifcio Country Club. The foods served in the reception was yummy & the reception was heartfelt. Muntik nakong maiyak. Hehehe. Buti na lang natapos ng maaga (2:15pm) or else.. bka bumaha ng luha dun. hehehe.

From FB, we went to Nokia Center in ATC. Hubby's 2-week old N80 hang-up last Tuesday. Software fix didn't worked. It might need a hardware repair as per their Customer Support. Hubby was so mad because they don't do "UNIT Change". They told us that we must deal with the distributor. Hay.

Went to True value to search for the Kitchen Cabinet that we've been looking for a month now. Unfortunately, they don't have it so we went straight to SM SouthMall. And still we're unfortunate, SM and ACE doesn't have the model that we're looking for. To reward ourselves for being patient with traffic, we had our afternoon snacks in Auntie Anne's Pretzel. Hubby had her favorite hotdog pretzel while I had a choco chips. It was a good snacks. It was still early so we did look around. I don't know if its bad or good that we spotted the sale on Guess. Had 2nd thoughts of buying a pants, but hubby insisted that I should buy one. And who am I to turn-down this offer. I am a very happy girl when we got home at 7:45pm.

We just had our dinner and Chapter-66 of Jumong before going to sleep.

Sunday

We attended a 7:30 mass. And went to Pasig for our dental appointment. Had my denture. Ariel was supposed to have a jacket fix but it was re-scheduled for next week since it's gonna be a lot of work (he has braces) as per her sister who happens to be our dentist also. From the clinic, we visited my parents house. Only my mom and my two sisters (Ditse Del & Gemme) are there. My dad and popoy went out for a bike. We had a mini-lunch before leaving with Gemme. She's gonna stay in our house until the Scrapfest.

PS May EB
I was having 2nd thoughts of attending the PS EB. It is my 1st time. I also don't know the details and the contact numbers of those attending. I just know the building name.We just asked the guard & he pointed us to 2nd floor. Got to meet old and new faces. There were lots of activities - make & take card ( it was a nice kit. sayang. i was not able to have it, late kasi ako eh. waah), scrapping, shopping and the launching of the Pinoyscrapbookers Challenge Blog ( there were trivias, i won twice. Got pretty PPS from Lee. Forgot the questions but the asnwers were: Perfect Match by Bananaspin AKA Hanna & BATIBOT). Items i bought were: Swivel Circle Template from Au, PPS from Mitch and Prima Flowers from Jeannie.
We also started working on my PS BLOG Challenge entry this May but hubby seems to be worried of work. He still needs to do something @ home. We left the venue at 3pm. I should have stayed longer kung di lang sya Sunday. More wento of the EB in JENN's BLOG (extra kami dun.hehe) and pix here.

We arrived home at 4pm. I fixed my newly purchased scrap stuffs, make a nameplate for the next EB. had dinner @ 7pm. worked on the challenge entry again - traced the chipboard letters in the PPS & CS. Handcut them for the Title. We're tired already @ 10pm so we call it a day. watched some portion of GMA's "ISANG TANONG" before going to bed.

My Entry to PS Challenge Blog - "BOTTOMs UP"

Already uploaded my entry in the PS Challenge blog for the 1st Challenge. Hubby and I worked on this together. Used some stuffs from the goodies I got from Valerie.

You can view the LO details here.

SUmaMMER Kami ..

We had a very tiring yet enjoying LONG weekend.

FRIDAY- Villa Escudero
Our company had our summer outing in Villa Escudero last Friday. It was a 2 day event (Friday or Monday) but we can only choose one. We are a semicon manufacturing company so we can't afford for a shut down just to give way to this summer outing. The plant needs to be open 24/7. We choose to go on friday as suggested by our Department Director.

Villa Escudero is a cozy place for vacation but not really good for a day tour because it defeats the purpose of relaxation. It will keep you rushing going from one place to another. At anyhow... we enjoyed the LUNCH in the BATIS. it gave a cool feeling after being exposed to the heat of the sun. But got a toothache after lunch that made me a wicked wife. hehehe. It really made me irritated. Just what the oldies always say, "sumakit na lahat , wag lang ipin". What makes it worst is that i forgot to bring a medicine. A toothache and a hot weather makes a wife wicker!!! Thanks to my hubby for being patient.

After an hour of agony, the pain subside. we were able to stroll around the village. Saw the nice cottages, the suggested reception area and the museum. The museum is a total AWWW!!!. lots of stuffs to see inside - from big Images of Christ and Mother Mary, to the Antique Jars, Coins from different countries, preserved inserts and animals, different costumes, native's accessories. It almost have everything.

We left @ 3:30 though our reservation is until 4pm. We still need to prepare for the next day.
More pix in this link.

Bottom line, it is such a good place.Kaya... SU-maMMER ka na!!!

SAT & SUN - Balai sa Laiya, San Juan Batangas

Our group decided to go for a summer get-away even though our company is going to Villa E. We planned the outing even before they announced the outing.

We're supposed to meet @ 6pm in Batangas exit but since I know that they are filipinos.. I didn't prepare for it (Am I bad???). Actually, i didn't planned to convoy with them coz i feel that it was too early and besides i have a map.

We picked up some friends from imus @ 5:45am and had Bfast in Mcdo Mamplasan. Also bought my favorite Caramel Machiatto from SB. I was so inip (mainipin talaga ako) and didn't manage to sleep during the trip. It took us 3 hours to get into the venue. Waah.

Activities to had are:
SATURDAY:Card Games, UNO, Lunch, Mirienda kwento & preparation, Swimming, Dinner preparation, Sleeping, dinner, INUMAN till midnight.
SUNDAY - woke up at 6am. planned to swim but it was too hot na. just help for the bfast preparation and prepared to go home. we left the venue at 10am and arrived in Pasig @ 1pm.

Comment on the venue: It is not a big resort but have a good ambiance. We have occupied 4 big cottages (we almost invade the resort @ 44pax). the cottages are cozy and no insects. however, i didn't enjoy much the beach. Almost white sand sya but very mabato and masakit sa paa. Mabilis din lumalim ang tubig at masyado maalon. For a non-swimmer like me, it is scary.

But overall.. the resort is nice for relaxation.

More Balai pix here.

SUmaMMER na kami and planning another summer activity kaya SUmaMMEr na din kayo!!! We only have one more month to go.
